Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education and Research (JIPMER) is considered to be one of the most prestigious medical institutes of India. In order to enroll yourself in any of the professional courses offered by JIPMER you will have to give an entrance exam which is held every year at different centers located in India. The JIPMER exam centers for the year 2014 are: Bengaluru, Bhubaneswar, Trivandrum, Chennai, Guwahati, Kolkata, Coimbatore, Mumbai, Lucknow, New Delhi, Puducherry and Bhopal.
The 2014 JIPMER MD/MS exam will take place on the 23rd of February. The exam duration is three hours. The eligibility criteria related to the entrance exam is that you have to be an Indian or an OCI. You should also have a MBBS degree or some equivalent degree which is acknowledged by the Medical Council of India. In addition to that, you should have internship training for at least one year in order to be eligible for the exam.
From 1st of January to 31st of January 2014, the online application for JIPMER MD/MS exam 2014 will be available on the official website of the institute: www.jipmer.edu.in. Thousand rupees is the application fee for the JIPMER MD/MS exam 2014. However, the candidates belonging to the SC/ST/ OPH categories will have to pay eight-hundred rupees.
The candidates appearing for the exam will have to answer 250 multiple choice questions which will belong to the categories of basic clinical sciences like pathology, physiology, anatomy etc. (100 questions) and clinical sciences like surgery, psychiatry, dermatology, medicine etc. (150 questions).
Candidates who have successfully submitted their online applications can download their JIPMER MD/MS hall ticket from 15th of February. The list of selected candidates will be published on the official website of JIPMER on the 1st of March, 2014. The MD/MS course is starting from 1st of April 2014 and the course has three year duration.
